Art and Wine, a perfect blend

As the days get shorter and colder, what better way to enjoy a glass of wine while being cozy indoors and admire some art, or let your own creative energy flow!

Accompanied by a loved one or attending alone, because when experiencing art, you are never truly alone. Being touched by art can happen in solitude…yes…art moves in mysterious ways.

I am a huge art lover myself. I enjoy art gazing as much as wine gazing. Wineries form a beautiful decor for art wandering and attending or hosting art classes.

Here are three must visit wineries in (West) Kelowna for art gazing while holding a glass of wine in one hand.

  1. The Vibrant Vine Winery Located in Kelowna, this Winery is an explosion of color and fun, even their wine bottles are a true piece of art.
  2. Grizzli Winery Located in West Kelowna, this winery is an architectural masterpiece and home of Grizzli Art Gallery.
  3. The Gallery Winery Beautiful paintings by co-owner of this winery, artist Natascha Campbell. Her art is also showcased on their winelabels. Located in West Kelowna.

There are so-called sip and paint classes, where you can enjoy a glass of wine while creating a piece of art yourself. And remember, whether you are a beginner or want to learn new techniques, art is also about having fun and experimenting. Don’t let your perfectionism get in the way of a wonderful experience (little note for the perfectionists among us and note to self :)).

Here are some upcoming sip and paint classes in (West) Kelowna, in order of date

1. November 11, 2023. Create a vibrant landscape (acrylic). Volcanic Hills Winery.

2. November 12, 2023. Christmas in Watercolor. The Vibrant Vine Winery.

3. November 16, 2023. Painting a featured painting in honor of the fall season. Priest Creek Family Estate Winery.

A special shout-out to number 2 on this list, just because I experienced a sip and paint class before from great artist Janice Keirstead Hennig at The Vibrant Vine Winery. I created a ‘Messy Masterpiece’ and learned a new technique (blowing paint). Overall experience was superb. See picture below for the end result.
